I prefer a videocall over a telephone call for the sole reason that as human beings we communicate a lot through non-verbal language.
If a videocall is not possible, a telephone call will do. What is not possible is to substitute this first contact by WhatsApp messages or email.
The first minutes of the call will allow me to present myself and establish a calm and relaxed environment.
